Brian, who co-founded PFPG with Tom in 1998, is a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. His specialties
include investments and retirement planning.
Brian belongs to the CFA Institute and the Maine Estate Planning Council. He is also active
in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. Brian has served on the Board of Directors of the
Genesis Community Loan Fund, which provides financing to affordable housing and community groups across Maine.
He has also served as Treasurer of the Maine Planned Giving Council and of the Maine Crafts
Association. Brian has been quoted in Bloomberg News, Investment News and the Portland Press Herald. He has also appeared on the newscasts of
Portland's ABC and CBS TV stations. Brian is a graduate of Yale University.
Brian, his wife, and their three children live in Cape Elizabeth. Brian worked for many years in the publishing industry as a book editor and also owned a bookstore before
becoming a financial planner in 1997.
Tom, who co-founded PFPG with Brian in 1998, is a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner whose specialties are investments, retirement and estate planning.
Tom is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the premier professional organization
for fee-only planners. He also belongs to the Financial Planning Association. Tom is a member and past President of the Maine Estate Planning Council. He previously served as a
Trustee and Investment Committee Chair for Maine Initiatives, a statewide organization that advocates for social,
economic and environmental justice at the grassroots level. He has been widely quoted in the media, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times,
Money, BusinessWeek, Financial Planning, and Kiplinger's. Tom is a graduate of Haverford College.
Tom and his wife live in South Portland's Willard Beach community with their two pets. Prior to becoming a financial planner in 1996, Tom worked as a financial analyst for
Kobe Steel in Tokyo and New York City.
Debra works closely with Tom and Brian to support and enhance client relationships, including managing account-related documents, assisting with financial reporting,
creating client communications, and maintaining office systems and bookkeeping. Prior to joining us at PFPG in 2007, Debra was Assistant Registrar for Continuing Studies at
Maine College of Art for over eight years.
A graduate of the University of Chicago, Debra is also a practicing fine artist and instructor with work in national and international collections. She lives in Portland

Sarah plays an active role in managing PFPG’s client workflow and compliance related tasks, and helps maintain office systems and work routines. She has fourteen years of office managerial experience and has worked for both private practices and non-profit organizations.
Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. She lives in Portland with her husband and daughter, and enjoys reading, playing tennis, and watching her daughter event with their Irish Draught horse.
